Concepts of Connexion is a book on United Methodist ecclesiology through the lens of connexion. It explores various ways of looking at what connexion (or ‘connection’) is and how this paradigm for being church can be used to understand the Christian life, issues of church government, and theological possibilities in The United Methodist Church.
The chapters published on Methodistica are still working drafts. They are offered up here as a way of engaging readers during the writing process for the book.
The first chapters published on this website were originally shared with my United Methodist Polity students at Yale Divinity School during the fall semester of 2016. I am thankful for their comments and suggestions as I further develop the book.
